Diving in the UK has always seemed like an activity for the rugged, experienced and independent; and as a PADI holiday diver it didn’t seem like something that was even possible on UK shores.

But it is possible to have the same holiday diving experience here in our beautiful North Wales waters. Dutton’s Divers, based in Pwllheli’s marina are a PADI Dive Centre; a perfect diving companion for beginner, recreational and experienced divers alike.

Make Gwelfor the base for your adventures.

Beginner Divers

Try Dives are a great way to test the waters (wink*wink*nudge*nudge)

Duttons divers offer 3 different types of try dives running from 10am or 1pm:

1) Pool based from the dive centre £49pp for 1 hour session

2) At the local bay, Plas Heli £149pp for 1.5 hour session

3) From the dive boat at the Tudwal’s islands with the seals £299pp for 3 hour session

Each of these are suitable for those that have never dived before and all equipment is provided. They offer both bespoke 1:1 for those who would benefit from a more personal experience with an instructor as well as group sessions.

Qualified divers diving in the UK for the first time

Now that you’ve discovered the untapped world of holiday diving in the UK, why not complete your PADI Drysuit Speciality with Dutton’s Divers so that you can comfortably undertake more temperate water adventures?

During one pool session and two open water dives, you’ll learn how to comfortably and confidently dive in a drysuit. An experienced instructor will help you dial in your buoyancy and shorten the learning curve.

You’ll practice taking your drysuit on and off, determine how much weight you need, and master basic drysuit skills in a pool before making two open water dives. The Drysuit speciality course can be completed in two quarry dives (where the water is extra chilly) for £199

Guided recreational diving in North Wales

Duttons divers offer guided and unguided dives from two dive boats, Little Viv & Sea Quest. There are over 15 different dive sites that are accessed by boat from the Pwllheli dive centre.

Trips on Little Viv are guided by an instructor and perfect for anyone with limited sea diving experience or wanting someone to show them the sites. The trips are 4:1 making them a personal experience. The dive sites are around the Tudwals islands area, offering seal encounters, wrecks and a wide variety of marine life.

Guided: £90pp per dive

Kit hire: £65pp for the day (includes dry suit if client is appropriately qualified)
